Stop fraud: Essential guide to what you should NEVER do

Tu Primera línea de defensa en la era digital

In today’s digital world, where speed and convenience are key, security has become more important than ever. Scams are not only more frequent but also more sophisticated, targeting what matters most: your assets, your information, and your customers’ trust.

We are committed to security in every transaction, implementing cutting-edge technologies to protect you. However, the fight against cybercrime isn’t won by technology alone—you are the first line of defense.

That’s why we created this guide. A reminder of the critical actions we must avoid to build an impenetrable wall of protection. Together, we can stop fraud.

  1. DO NOT share sensitive information.
Your data is your treasure. Never disclose confidential information such as passwords, verification codes (OTP), credit card numbers, or security keys via phone, email, or text message. Remember: no financial institution or legitimate company will ask for this information in this way.
  2. DO NOT click on suspicious links.
Phishing is one of the most common scams. Cybercriminals create emails or text messages that look official but contain links to fraudulent websites. Always verify the sender’s address, and if in doubt, type the website address directly into your browser instead of clicking the link.
  3. DO NOT trust unexpected offers or calls.
Be wary of prizes you didn’t expect or “tech support” calls asking for access to your computer or personal information. The golden rule is simple: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
  4. DO NOT use public Wi-Fi networks for key transactions.
Wi-Fi networks in cafés, airports, or hotels are often insecure and can be easily monitored by cybercriminals. Avoid making purchases, checking your online banking, or accessing sensitive information while connected to them. If necessary, use a virtual private network (VPN).
  5. DO NOT reuse weak or repeated passwords.
Using the same password across multiple accounts is a huge risk. If one gets compromised, all others could be at risk. Use strong, unique passwords for each service and consider using a password manager.
  6. DO NOT ignore security alerts.
Pay attention to security notifications from your banks, platforms, or apps. Ignoring a warning could give criminals the edge they need to launch an attack. Always review your activity and report any unusual behavior immediately.

Prevention is our best tool.
By following these tips, we become an unbeatable team against cybercrime.
Together, we stop fraud!
