(NYSE: EVTC) (\u201cEVERTEC\u201d or the \u201cCompany today announced that for the fifth consecutive year it is one of 483 other companies as a member of the 2023 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI), a modified market capitalization-weighted index developed to gauge the performance of public companies dedicated to reporting gender-related data. This reference index measures gender equality across five pillars: leadership &amp; talent pipeline, equal pay &amp; gender pay parity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies, and external brand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The 2023 GEI reaches globally to represent 45 countries and regions,<\/strong> including firms headquartered in Luxembourg, Ecuador, and Kuwait for the first time. Member companies represent a variety of sectors, including financials, technology, and utilities, which continue to have the highest company representation in the index from 2022.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mac Schuessler<\/strong>, President, and CEO of Evertec, stated: <em>\u201cWe are honored to be recognized once again by the Bloomberg Gender -Equality Index alongside other top companies who prioritize diversity &amp; inclusion in the workplace.\u201d<\/em>Over the past five years Evertec has undertaken multiple initiatives to foment diversity and inclusion among its more than 2,700 employees in the 11 countries where it operates, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Development of female talent through leadership roles and special projects.<\/li>\n<li>Fostering a culture of learning and development through its Talent Development Program.<\/li>\n<li>Promoting an inclusive culture, including implementing sexual harassment policies.<\/li>\n<li>Providing education opportunities through its Leadership Academy.<\/li>\n<li>Developing a brand foundation as a pro-gender diversity employer promoting a work environment free from prejudice.<\/li>\n<li>Increasing women\u2019s participation in its Internship Program.<\/li>\n<li>Promoting the development of women in STEM achieving, for a 2nd consecutive year, a high participation and parity in the applications received by women in STEM for its Scholarship Program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, aware of the importance of the role of women in technology, Evertec has not only managed to maintain 37% of women in its workforce but also increased from 25% to 27% of women in Information Technology roles.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Congratulations to the companies that are included in the 2023 GEI,&#8221;<\/em> said <strong>Peter T. Grauer,<\/strong> Chairman of Bloomberg and Founding Chairman of the U.S. 30% Club. <em>&#8220;We continue to see an increase in both interest and membership globally, reflecting a shared goal of transparency in gender-related metrics.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Evertec submitted a social survey created by Bloomberg, in collaboration with subject matter experts globally. Those included on this year\u2019s index scored at or above a global threshold established by Bloomberg to reflect disclosure and the achievement or adoption of best-in-class statistics and policies.<\/p>\n<p>Both the survey and the GEI are voluntary and have no associated costs. Bloomberg collected this data for reference purposes only. The index is not ranked.
