Recommendations to protect your POS terminals

  • Inspect your POS terminals regularly for added components or alterations that may indicate skimmers Install tamper-proof security seals.
  • Place seals on screws and ports to detect unauthorized access.
  • Train your team how to spot suspicious behavior and monitor payment devices closely.
  • Keep terminal software up to date making sure that operating systems and apps have the latest security patches.
  • Promote secure payment technologies such as EMV chip cards and contactless payments for better fraud protection.
  • Monitor transactions regularly by using automated tools to detect unusual patterns or activity in real time Use advanced authentication.
  • Implement two-step or multi-factor authentication for e-commerce and chip cards for in-person payments.
  • Stay in touch with your bank and security providers to identify and respond to threats quickly.
